The door widths used in real construction cluster into a small set of standards. Use this page as a reference when you specify or model any door.

Interior hinged doors
Bedroom / bathroom / office: 30–32 inches. 32 is the most common. Walk-in closet / pantry: 28–32 inches. Linen closet: 24–28 inches. Accessible doorway (ADA): 36 inches minimum (32 inches clear when open at 90°).

Exterior doors
Front entry: 36 inches. Sometimes 30 or 32 in older homes; 42 in larger contemporary entries. Back/side entry: 32–36 inches. Patio (single hinged): 32–36 inches.

Interior pair: 48–72 inches total. 60 is the standard. Exterior pair: 60–72 inches total. Multi-panel (4 or 6): 96–144 inches total.

Two-panel patio: 60–96 inches. 72 and 96 are most common. Three-panel: 96–144 inches. Four-panel: 120–192 inches.

Pocket door: 28–42 inches. 32 standard interior. Barn door (single): 28–60 inches. 36 standard. Barn door (double): Each panel 28–48 inches; total 56–96.
Tips
Match adjacent doors
If most interior doors are 32 inches, the rest should be 32 too. Mixing 30 and 32 in the same hallway looks off.
