Sloped and vaulted ceilings

Each room corner can have its own ceiling height. Use it for sloped roofs, vaulted ceilings, and shed roofs.

Step by step

  1. 1

Give a wall a different height

Click a wall to select it. The Inspector shows its Height — 8 feet by default, with presets (9', 10', 11') or a custom value. Each wall sets the ceiling height at its own edge.

Each wall's height sets the ceiling height along that edge.
  2. 2

Raise neighbouring walls to different heights

Set the walls around the room to different heights. Where two walls of different heights meet, the ceiling slopes between them.

  3. 3

    Shed and vaulted roofs

One high wall opposite a low one gives a shed roof; raising opposite walls high gives a vaulted ceiling. Mix heights around the room to sculpt the shape you want.

  4. 4

    Verify in 3D

Switch to 3D View. The ceiling renders the slope you specified, rising across the room.

The vaulted ceiling in 3D — walls of different heights slope the ceiling across the room.
